Law Enforcement Guidelines
Last updated: 10 October 2026
These guidelines are for police and government authorities seeking information about Magntc members. Magntc is operated by WEU Innovations Pvt Ltd, India. Members' own requests about their data go to the Privacy Policy instead.
Our approach
WEU cooperates with law enforcement. Our members' individual conduct is their own responsibility (Terms of Service, section 3), and we support investigations into it.
We disclose member data in response to valid legal process under the law that applies to us, and on our own initiative only where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to prevent an imminent risk of death or serious physical harm. We do not disclose data to anyone who merely claims to be an authority: doing so would itself break data-protection law.
How to make a request
Send it from an official government e-mail address to contact@weuinnovations.in, with "Law enforcement request" in the subject, including:
- the legal process (court order, notice or warrant) and the law under which it is issued;
- the requesting authority, officer's name, rank and badge or ID number, and contact details;
- the member's public profile identifier, or the phone number they registered with;
- the specific information sought, and the date range.
Requests from outside India may need to come through a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty or another process recognised by Indian law.
Preservation
We will preserve available records for 90 days on receipt of an official preservation request, pending valid legal process.
Emergencies
Mark the subject "EMERGENCY" and describe the imminent risk of death or serious physical harm. We review emergency requests as a priority.
What exists
Magntc does not collect location, so we hold no location history. What we may hold, and for how long, is set out in the Privacy Policy — for example, account and profile data, sign-in records, messages (until 30 days after the sender deletes their account), venue check-ins (7 days after they end), and reports and moderation decisions (kept). Data that has been deleted under that policy cannot be recovered.
Notifying members
We may tell a member about a request for their data unless the law prohibits it, or the request shows that telling them would put someone at risk or obstruct an investigation.
